Project Ideas

We met today to discuss possible project ideas. We decided on doing a project in the 'Resource Development' category. The ideas explored are as followed:

  2. Facebook
  3. Star Wars
  4. Lamps
  5. Cigarettes
  6. Vitamins
  7. Obesity
  8. Robots, machines
  9. Cartoons
  10. Piracy
  11. Toys
  12. CCAs in Hwa Chong
  13. Education in Singapore
  14. Communication and Transportation
  15. Environment

After much discussion, we narrowed down our choices to three ideas. We further discussed, and made a mindmap on each of the three ideas.

Facebook

Pros

  • Close to the student's heart (relevant)
  • Attract attention
  • Interesting

Cons

  • Survey results might not be accurate

Possible content

  • Surveys
  • Interviews
  • Addictiveness
  • Inspiration for building Facebook
  • Uses of Facebook
  • Special unknown features
  • Interactive flash websites


 

Robots and Machines

Pros

  • Interesting if done well
  • Can link up with robotics club

Cons

  • Content may be dry

Possible ideas

  • How do robots work?
  • Future robots?
  • History Robots
  • Matrix-style presentation
  • Lego-style robots
  • Interview robotic club members
  • Star Wars


 

Kiwis

Pros

  • Can present interesting recipes
  • Videos/Games/Quiz
  • GM Kiwis vs. natural Kiwis

Cons

  • Kiwis are expensive, may be hard to experiment on

  • Health benefits of Kiwi
  • Types of Kiwi
  • Background information on Kiwi
  • Types of Kiwis
  • Quiz and interactive flash video
  • Games


 

After comparing the pros and cons of the above 3 ideas, we felt that we would like to do Kiwi or another fruit/vegetables. The team decided to each do more research on one kind of fruit/vegetable and then decide as a team on the final theme.
